It was a breath of fresh air. I began to realize that the freedom I felt/experienced on the coaching call was something I was created to enjoy and able to have in my life on a daily basis.

It doesn’t matter where I am or who I’m speaking to, there’s one question I get asked constantly:
“How can I feel more comfortable being me?”
It takes a lot of courage to ask this, because it forces you to get REAL & raw with yourself.
Today’s KIR video is all about busting out from behind those masks we put on, so check it out & listen up:
Hey Vasavi! I love you you are so genuine and real. You aren’t called the Keepin’ It Real Guru for nothing, and I really look forward to your weekly videos. So thank you! Here’s my question. I know deep down that I am waiting to be unleashed. I feel like most of the time, I am wearing a mask. It’s scary for me to just be me. It’s been so long where I can just be myself that I’m starting to forget who that even is. How do I just be me?”
There’s one main reason why so many people are afraid to be themselves: societal conditioning.
We spend our entire lives learning there are rules we need to follow, lines we can’t cross, and things we shouldn’t say. We start to believe if we don’t obey these guidelines, we won’t be accepted, approved of, or loved. So we hide ourselves. We push ourselves to fit in and meet everyone else’s standards, because we’re so terrified of being shunned or shamed.
And worst of all, when we’re constantly an altered version of ourselves, we slowly but surely start to forget who we really are.
But it doesn’t have to be this way. Watch the video now to get the steps you need to start living as the authentic, totally unadulterated YOU.
Warning: expect to break a few rules. That’s what liberation’s all about, baby!
How about you? Do you feel at ease being 100% yourself, all the time? Or are there moments you dodge behind masks too? Get real with me in the comments below, I always love to hear from you guys.

Have you had a chat with God recently?
And no, I’m not just talking about prayer, or sitting in a confessional speaking with a guide who tells you what to do. I’m asking: when was the last time you really felt you could quiet your mind, reach out, and touch a Higher Power with ease and grace?
A lot of us are hungry for this connection to the Source of all that is (whatever that may be)… but we’re just not sure how to start making it.
Which brings us to this week’s soul-centered KIR question, from Priya:
“Vasavi, I want to start a spiritual practice, but I don’t know where to begin. Every time I sit down to meditate, my mind wanders, and I get frustrated and give up. How do I begin?”
Many people struggle to find their spiritual roots because they don’t feel really connected to the practices they commonly see or experience. And when these ‘typical’ ways to talk to God doesn’t feel authentic to us, we assume we’re just not able to connect. It’s frustrating!
But there is ONE big idea you’re probably overlooking… and it might be what finally pushes you to start that soulful searching you’ve been putting off.
So check out the video & get the knowledge!
Now, I want to know: what do you do to feel connected with powers that be? Do you already have a cool practice going? When was one moment you felt really connected recently? Tell me all about it in the comments below, or drop me an email at email@example.com.
See ya next week!
If we are not learning, growing, expanding and taking action, then we’re dying a slow death.
Thank you 2012 for kicking my ass and teaching me these beautiful lessons.
1. Outward success doesn’t mean anything if the home front is falling apart.
Ok, I admit it. I work. A lot. I work to the point where I forget to pick up the phone and call friends and family. I work to the point where I neglect my physical well-being. Everything becomes secondary. Everything. The day that I decided to put me first was the day that the doors opened up to true success. Suddenly I was no longer living my life around my business. Instead, My business was an extension of who I was and I was living my life around it. It takes commitment, dedication, massive accountability, and trust. I’m still working on it but now more than ever, as my company starts to grow and new opportunities are created, I am focused on what matters the most- my health, my marriage, my friendships, and my family.
Ok. I just need to break it down.
the only thing “scary” about your fear-
is actually listening and letting your fear dominate
your reason for being. That is all.
your fear is not your enemy.
your fear is your friend.
your fear is your GPS.
my GPS recalculates when I don’t listen to it.
It’s the same concept. When you let you fear dictate your actions the entire course of your journey is recalculated.
Sure, it will get you to your destination (where ever that may be), and you may need to take some local roads-
but the GPS will clearly get you to where you need to go.
just like your fear.
Listen to it, respect it, and honor it.
it will take you to exactly where you are intended to go.
