It was a breath of fresh air. I began to realize that the freedom I felt/experienced on the coaching call was something I was created to enjoy and able to have in my life on a daily basis.

I’m so thrilled to be part of Kate Northrup’s Money Love Stories project that’s part of the launch of her new book, Money: A Love Story.

The idea is this: Money is a taboo topic and it’s a source of shame and fear for many. I can tell you from personal experience in my house growing up, there were two main conversations about money. The first was that money should be saved and never spent. The second was that money was meant to be spent and not held onto until the day you die. Weird and confusing for a kid my age.

Watch the video below to hear Kate interview me about my own Money Love Story. I hope it inspires you to keep it real about your own relationship with money!

I absolutely love Kate’s approach to money. I gotta say, a lot of the financial experts there put me to sleep, so it’s quite refreshing to be a part of this conversation with Kate.

Money: A Love Story is a uniquely kind and rollicking guide to getting your finances on track. It’s chock full of inspiring stories -including Kate’s own of getting into and out of $20,000 of credit card debt -and 29 eye-and heart-opening exercises.

Whether you want to pay off your debt for good, rake in more income, or forge a lifestyle of true freedom, Money: A Love Story is your road map. True abundance, financial clarity, and a loving relationship with your money (and yourself) are all yours for the having. This book will take your hand and show you exactly how to get there.

P.S. When you order your copy of Money: A Love Story you’ll get free access to an exclusive 2-hour online event called A Course in Having Enough. Kate will be joined by guest experts Marianne Williamson, NY Times bestselling author of A Return to Love, Barbara Stanny, bestselling author of Overcoming Underearning, and Amanda Steinberg, Founder & CEO of to teach the course. Is it easy for you to invest in yourself? Or is it a constant battle between your bank balance and your goals?

If you’re a financial worry wart, or if just the idea of clicking ‘Pay now’ makes you shudder, this week’s video is for YOU.

Lara asks:

“I know that I need support in my personal life, and I need someone to hold me accountable. The thing that stops me is my relationship to money. I’m so scared to spend money on myself. What do I do?”

Awesome question Lara. And the answer goes much farther back than your last trip to the ATM.

We’re all ingrained with beliefs systems surrounding money at a very young age, depending how and where we were raised.

Tell me if any of these sound familiar:

“There’s never enough money,”
“You have to work your butt off to earn it!”
“People with a lot of money do bad things.”
“Money will come easily to you.”
“Money is evil.”
“If you’re spiritual, you shouldn’t care about money.”

Yep – thought so.

The problem is, these internal dialogues from your childhood are still running the show in your adult life. I think it’s high time you transformed your relationship to money – don’t you? Start taking investing in yourself seriously.

The power’s in your hands! Check out the video to learn more.

P.S. Had your eye on my S.O.U.R.C.E. of Your Success program? Early enrollment has closed, but the registration doors are still wide open for you. 🙂 Head on over to check it out – what you learn could change your life.
