It was a breath of fresh air. I began to realize that the freedom I felt/experienced on the coaching call was something I was created to enjoy and able to have in my life on a daily basis.

This past weekend I had the honor of speaking at the Honey Dews Baby Expo right here in Overland Park, Kansas. The room was filled with expectant mothers who were simply glowing.
As you may or may not know, I don’t have kids. And when I got up on the stage, I had to keep it real with the audience and share that I have no clue what it’s like to be a mother (unless you count my being a mother to our Golden Retreiver, Laney). But I do know one thing. That every human being wants to be happy and to feel free.
In a society that moves so fast, it’s so important that we stop and smell the roses. Literally.
When’s the last time you did something for yourself simply for the sake of it? When’s the last time you allowed yourself to bask in the pleasure of truly being alive?
When I think about pleasure I think about dark chocolate, fresh air, a walk in the park with Laney, and being with my husband, Ashish.
Speaking of pleasure, today’s Keepin’ It Real has a new twist. I love sitting on my signature green couch and talking to you every week. But I also want to introduce you to some of the amazing people on this planet that are committed to helping others achieve and unlock their greatest potential.

Once you watch the video, I would love to hear:
What’s one simple pleasure that you will allow yourself to experience this week?

It doesn’t matter where I am or who I’m speaking to, there’s one question I get asked constantly:
“How can I feel more comfortable being me?”
It takes a lot of courage to ask this, because it forces you to get REAL & raw with yourself.
Today’s KIR video is all about busting out from behind those masks we put on, so check it out & listen up:
Hey Vasavi! I love you you are so genuine and real. You aren’t called the Keepin’ It Real Guru for nothing, and I really look forward to your weekly videos. So thank you! Here’s my question. I know deep down that I am waiting to be unleashed. I feel like most of the time, I am wearing a mask. It’s scary for me to just be me. It’s been so long where I can just be myself that I’m starting to forget who that even is. How do I just be me?”
There’s one main reason why so many people are afraid to be themselves: societal conditioning.
We spend our entire lives learning there are rules we need to follow, lines we can’t cross, and things we shouldn’t say. We start to believe if we don’t obey these guidelines, we won’t be accepted, approved of, or loved. So we hide ourselves. We push ourselves to fit in and meet everyone else’s standards, because we’re so terrified of being shunned or shamed.
And worst of all, when we’re constantly an altered version of ourselves, we slowly but surely start to forget who we really are.
But it doesn’t have to be this way. Watch the video now to get the steps you need to start living as the authentic, totally unadulterated YOU.
Warning: expect to break a few rules. That’s what liberation’s all about, baby!
How about you? Do you feel at ease being 100% yourself, all the time? Or are there moments you dodge behind masks too? Get real with me in the comments below, I always love to hear from you guys.

It’s a fact: work takes its toll on your body.
Hours spent sitting behind a desk, staring at a screen (and possibly snacking) starts to feel pretty awful after a while. Exercise is hugely important, because it allows us to do something that’s amazing for our bodies on every level.
Although we have every reason to lace up our sneakers and get moving, we don’t. Why? Well, let’s discuss.
Welcome to my redesigned website and new blog! I’m excited to be able to share my insights and offer suggestions for staying– or finally getting on track. There are many available resources to help you along in your journey, and I will be reviewing some of them and making recommendations. I’ll be sharing some client success stories and profiling individuals and businesses who benefit from coaching.
I thought a logical place to begin is for me to explore and explain a bit about personal coaching— and how it differs from therapy. I’m often asked about these two disciplines; how they are similar and how they differ.
In coaching, we will form a co-active partnership designed to create a vision for your future that better balances the many aspects of your life; that promotes achievement from possibilities; that inspires and motivates you to take the next step; that enhances your performance; that helps you really live the life you want to live. Such a partnership will help you stay focused and on track so you develop more rapidly and produce more satisfying results in your life than you would normally accomplish on your own.
You can choose to focus on your business, career, finances, life purpose, vocation, relationships, health, time management, spirituality, etc. If there’s an area of your life that feels out-of-sync, we can address it together and make a plan to get you back on track!
Therapy focuses on healing and correcting past problematic behavior, while Life Coaching is more positive and motivational; focusing on helping the client maximize and get the most quality out of living their life. In both, the client enters into a professional, confidential relationship to make some life changes. Communication is an essential part of this change process. Over time, with regular on-going sessions, change is expected to occur. Let me begin this journey with you!
