Yesterday I went to the Texas Conference for Women here in Austin, TX. My role was to serve as a coach in the “Coaches Corner” for the 7000 attendees traveling from all over to come to the conference. Of course, I didn’t speak to 7000 women but I had the opportunity to coach many of the women who needed help with their “next steps.” Some were 9-5ers looking to make some additional income. Some were in transition between their job and their side hustle, and some just needed a boost of confidence that they were on the right track.
I also got to hear many of the speakers, including the elegant and world-famous fashion designer, Diane Von Furstenberg.
She said something that I wanted to share with you today:
“You never know how something that seems like the worst thing turns out to be the best.”
Whatever you may be going through right now, no matter how “bad” it seems, will turn out to the be the best. How do I know this with such certainty? Because when I reflect on anything and everything that I have gone through in my life, I can now see that it all worked out in my favor.
It’s all about perspective.
And if your perspective is skewed and filled with negativity, then of course your life is going to feel like it’s happening TO YOU, versus FOR YOU.
That’s me and the lovely DVF below 🙂
Why is it that us humans manage to complicate even the smallest things in our life?
What if I told you that I could show you how to simplify your life in just a few simple (pun intended) steps?
You would love it right?!??!
This past week I moved into my new apartment. Let’s just say that this sanctuary of mine is a huge upgrade from where I used to live. Vaulted ceilings, all updated appliances, and nestled in the woods where I hardly get any service but that’s ok with me (unless I’m talking to clients and then it becomes annoying). My point is, These past 60 days have been hectic between taking on an entire new client load, packing (and then unpacking), moving, coordinating all the details, keeping my self-care up, and just overall, “managing life.”
It wasn’t easy.
However, I will say that I successfully managed to move, unpack and finally get settled in within a week, am getting my self-care slowly back on track, and am also becoming more patient with myself to not have it be working all smoothly, all the time.
Whatever you’re going through right now, I want to show you where you may be overcomplicating things and also a few simple steps to stop distracting yourself from what really matters.
Overcomplicating things is exhausting and will keep you from focusing on what truly matters in your life.
I’m super excited about the invitation I’m going to extend to you.
We all have a superpower.
No, I’m not talking about flying or being invisible.
I’m talking about the innate quality that you possess that is totally YOUR superpower.
If you’ve been on my list for a while you know that I love talking to you.
That’s why I’m always encouraging you to sign up for my 20 minute chats.
Not sure if I’ve ever told you this, but i’ve never had a job. Well, unless you count working at CVS when I was 16 years old at Roosevelt Field Mall on Long Island. And in 2015 when I took a sabbatical from my business and worked five jobs!!
I get emails everyday from people just like you who want to transition from their full time gig to making their passion their “side hustle.” You may already be living out your passion in the form of your business and in that case, CONGRATULATIONS for making that happen.
I know it must be tough to make that transition from 9-5 and having a “safe and secure” paycheck to entrepreneurship where honestly, the first few years can either be sink or swim. You see when I first started my business, I was constantly reminded that I had an Ivy League education and “Why the hell can’t you just get a job like normal people?”
Have you ever thought about quitting your day job? If so, today’s Keepin’ It Real video is for you.
And guess what? Even if you have never asked yourself that, watch today’s vid anyway because whether or not you have ever explored the possibility of venturing out and starting your own business- at some point in your life- there may come a time where you are curious about what else is out there for you. It’s human nature. I’m true to my astrological sign (Taurus) and stubborn as a bull, so no matter what anyone said to me, I stuck with it. I kept going. And, even when I had to forego getting my nails done or go out to dinners with my friends because I had other financial responsibilities, I kept hustling as if my life depended on it (it did). And let me tell you, IT WAS WORTH IT.
Once you watch today’s video, I would love to hear your answer to this question below in the comments: Have you ever thought of quitting your day job to fulfill a long lost dream? Do you ever ask yourself, “ Is this it?”
Can’t wait to hear what you have to say. And if you know that you have a passion or an idea that you have been sitting on and not taking any action then check out my free video training on how to take action on ONE business idea in less than 20 minutes. Get it here: www.vasavikumar.com/focusedaction
