One of the biggest aspects of personal growth and becoming self aware is your relationship to your parents. Usually, when you still get triggered by your parents, or you find yourself seeking their approval in any area of your life, that is the biggest indicator that you still have work to do regarding your self growth.

Before you make decisions about anything, do you have to stop and consider what your parents would think about it?

Or if you make a mistake or do something that you think they wouldn’t approve of, do you hold back from telling them about it?

If the answer is yes, this is a huge red flag.

Why do they get to run your life?

Why does anyone get to run your life for that matter?

Why does it matter what they think?

You are no longer twelve years old anymore.

You no longer need to ask permission to go out and do what you want to do.

You’re not going to get grounded and shamed by your family. Well maybe you’ll get shamed.

Before I get into today’s post about “The Dark Side” I wanted to make sure you heard about and checked out my brand new company, so(ul) special!!! Head on over to and sign up because I’ll be sending you exciting updates about what’s to come!

The Dark Side.

This at first glance, may seem like a Star Wars reference. If you haven’t seen Star Wars and don’t know what I’m talking about, then shame on you (kidding, I’ve never seen it myself).

We all have this side to ourselves. The part that we don’t normally want to look at. The part that we don’t tell people about. It’s not pretty I’ll give you that. It definitely should not be allowed to play and frolic on a regular basis.

Guess what?

It’s still you.

What if I told you that this also could be your greatest asset?

I know this does not sound very realistic, but really give it some thought. If and I mean IF you were truly able to accept this part of yourself along with all the wonderful, amazing, rainbow unicorn parts, there would be nothing left to judge.

You would no longer have those painful thoughts of you making those horrible decisions in college. Or that time you decided to steal something, lie, cheat, manipulate, or con somebody.

Let me ask you something: Do you ever feel like when you talk to certain people it’s like banging your head against a brick wall? Ouch that hurts. You wanna know the ONE part of myself that I have consistenly had to work on? My “Keepin’ It Real” approach. video_fb1

See, while I may be the Keepin’ It Real “Guru,” I’ve had to become very mindful and aware of how I say what I say. Because guess what? Sometimes, Keepin’ It Real…goes wrong. And that’s not cool nor what I’m committed to. This week’s Keepin’ It Real is a bit different than the rest. My creative director, Justin makes a cameo appearance in today’s episode. Our dialogue is pretty darn funny so I can’t wait to hear what you think.

Sometimes, Keepin’ It Real goes wrong. That’s when you know it’s time to change your approach. (click to tweet)

I love surprises so I hope you enjoy today’s video and I would love to hear once you finish watching: What’s one small shift you can make to change your approach with people?

Come on now, Justin and I kept it real (watch the video to hear our confession) don’t leave us hangin 🙂

P.S. If you have been struggling with getting clear on WHAT you WANT, check out my program, The Art of Confident Action. You can check it out and enroll here.

Congratulations – you’ve launched your business! You’re an entrepreneur!

Sounds good, right?

But what if your business is not growing the way you hoped, the way you planned— the way you NEED it to in order for your life to work?

Doesn’t it piss you off when you see people doing exactly what you do but being paid more for it?

I have worked with and continue to work with people who are REALLY good at what they do. They’ve “been in the game” for 3, 4, maybe 5 years yet their bank accounts don’t reflect it.

This is where I can help.

My specialty is figuring out the factors that are keeping my clients stuck and the reasons they’re not rising to their full potential, and coming up withimmediate solutions to rocket them to the next level and turn their business into gold.

That’s what I do.

I help people get crystal clear about what they’re good at, and I teach them how to monetize it so their back accounts start to reflect their efforts.

That’s why I developed my full day, one-on- one intensive:

The Midas Touch
