It’s Mental Health Awareness Month. I believe that mental health “management” is a 24/7 job. And for some, it’s harder to maintain a certain level of mental sanity.
If you’ve struggled with any form of mental health breakdowns and struggles this episode is for you.
I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder when I was 20 years old. Almost half of my life since then been dedicated to becoming comfortable with my mind, and in my skin. It hasn’t been easy.
I do not have an Instagram-perfect life. Far . from it, and wouldn’t want it any other way. I actually feel sad for those that spend their time curating the perfect lighting, filters, and images.
I don’t believe in filters and editing. I most certainly don’t get carried away by the outward appearances of others (anymore). What I do care about is how I/you/we show up for others and ourselves, how we treat those that are less fortunate and have don’t access to resources, and how I/you/we feel when our outer world seems to be crumbling in front of us.
Do we have what it takes to stand tall in spite of our circumstances? Can we ask for help? Do we have the humility to say, “I don’t have the answer”?
I know what it feels like to shrink, feel small, and want to die. Because dying sure does feel like the easiest solution than having to face our life head on.
I also know that when I admitted I was powerless, and that my life was unmanageable, and I NEEDED HELP, things seemed to turn around for me.
Little by little, all the inner work is paying off.
Don’t get carried away by the Joneses. None of it is real. The only thing that I’m finding to be close to real, is how I feel when I’m alone with myself.
Everything else, is a distraction. Take the time to learn from others who have gone through similar situations as you. Look for the similarities, not the differences in others.
This episode is dedicated to all of those struggling and still suffering.
Peace is possible.
Here for you.
P.S. I would really appreciate your feedback. So much so that I’m giving away TWO LIVE 1:1 calls with me (life, business, ideas, relationships, career)
