What I learned from Diane von Furstenberg

Yesterday I went to the Texas Conference for Women here in Austin, TX. My role was to serve as a coach in the “Coaches Corner” for the 7000 attendees traveling from all over to come to the conference. Of course, I didn’t speak to 7000 women but I had the opportunity to coach many of the women who needed help with their “next steps.” Some were 9-5ers looking to make some additional income. Some were in transition between their job and their side hustle, and some just needed a boost of confidence that they were on the right track.

I also got to hear many of the speakers, including the elegant and world-famous fashion designer, Diane Von Furstenberg.

She said something that I wanted to share with you today:

“You never know how something that seems like the worst thing turns out to be the best.”

So true.

Whatever you may be going through right now, no matter how “bad” it seems, will turn out to the be the best. How do I know this with such certainty? Because when I reflect on anything and everything that I have gone through in my life, I can now see that it all worked out in my favor.

It’s all about perspective.

And if your perspective is skewed and filled with negativity, then of course your life is going to feel like it’s happening TO YOU, versus FOR YOU.

That’s me and the lovely DVF below 🙂

When you focus on your INTENTION, your power and energy increases. Most people focus on exerting more power and energy towards their goals only to feel burnt out and exhausted.

By focusing on your intention, your focus becomes more clear and you actually increase your energy in doing so.

For example, rather than focusing on why something isn’t going to work, how about focusing on what you want and why you want it? When you start to take action that is aligned with your intention, you actually FEEL more powerful and shift your perspective from “why can’t I figure this out” to “YES I CAN DO THIS.”

I feel very lucky to work with my clients. Seriously, it’s so much fun to watch them go from “Can I really do this?” to “Alright, I’m doing it.” It’s truly a joy to walk side by side with them and literally watch their perspective transform from fear to possibility.

Stay tuned for a special announcement from me! I am restructuring ways you can work with me and I’m excited to share it with you.
