Have you been disrespecting your feelings lately (or your entire life)?

So usually I write pretty long posts. But today is different because what I want to share with you and have you think about doesn’t take much time (that’s how intuitive we are).

Here are my questions for you to think about:

Where in your life are you disrespecting your feelings?

Where in your life have you been sweeping aside your intuition, thoughts, and feelings?

When is the last time you checked in with yourself and asked, “Hey, how am I feeling?”

You might be wondering, “Why are you asking me to think about this Vasavi?”

As you know, everything I type is intentional. Nothing just flies out of my fingers 🙂

The reason is this:

This past year I had to deal with and confront many of the old beliefs that keep many of us hostage and codependent in relationships.

I had to really come face to face with how my difficult relationship to saying “NO” to toxic people was having a huge affect on my mental and emotional health.

What I now know, and am still continuing to learn is that it has to get WORSE before it becomes better. (click to tweet)

So whether you are in a toxic relationship, friendship, career, or anything that is holding you hostage, just know that while cutting the cords may seem so damn hard at first, that YOU WILL GET THROUGH IT.

But it has to get worse, before it gets better.

And as long as you know that IT WILL GET BETTER, then rest assured that you can get through whatever you are going through.

Here are some of the ways that I have been dealing with and taking care of myself. I think some of these may work for you too if you so choose:

-I’ve been going daily to either spin class or CorePower Yoga. A little heat, a lot of movement, unshakeable peace. Check out your nearby yoga studio to see what works for you.

-I stock up my fridge and pantry with nothing but good stuff. Think- greens, fruits, nuts, yogurt, beans. And of course, kettle corn popcorn. Eating crappy will only add to the crappiness.

-I Facetime with my two year old niece, Ananya. We make silly faces at each other. It’s great and puts a smile on my face.

-My mother is coming to stay with me for a while. I am lucky that she is still alive and for those of you who don’t have your mom or dad around- I can’t even imagine how hard that is. But know that you are not alone and reach out to someone who you know always has your back. It’s hard to find so when you have it hold on to it. Ultimately you will find out that as long as YOU have your back, you are never alone. Know what I mean?

-I’m immersing myself back into my business. Not as in workaholic status, but honestly, focusing on me first AND THEN giving 100% value to my current clients and any new potentials (regardless if they become paying clients) that come my way feels really freakin’ good. Find ways to give value to others–just don’t forget to give it to yourself FIRST.

-Cooking. Ya’ll know I love to eat so yeah, that’s a given 🙂

Those are just some of things I’m doing these days. If you have other things that work for you please feel free to share with me! I’m always open to new ideas!

And remember, while it’s wonderful to seek advice and opinions from others, get to trust yourself. You will find just how wise you are.

That’s it for today. I am here for you.

Have a peaceful Sunday <3
